Secure Quantum Communication - QCI-Days 2025, Athens

From 28 to 30 April 2025, the QCI Days 2025 took place in Athens. These were jointly organised by the National Quantum Communication Infrastructures (NatQCIs) projects in Greece (HellasQCI), Spain (EuroQCI Spain) and Austria (QCI-CAT) and provided a platform for the latest trends in quantum-secure communication.
As a follow-up to the successful QKD Days in Madrid in 2022 and the QCI Days in Vienna in 2024, the event brought together EuroQCI communities from the public and private sectors as well as experts and specialists from industry and research. The new findings on secure quantum communication and the cyber security of the future were discussed by decision-makers and gave us the opportunity to present and discuss our expertise and results from the QCI-CAT project and shape them into new applications.
X-Net was on site with its own booth and two short presentations on quantum-secure communication with open source video conferencing systems. Together with our partner zynd GmbH, we demonstrated example applications of secure video communication in live demonstrations and, together with AIT Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH, presented the results of the QCI-CAT project funded by the European Union and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG.
