Initial Situation

The requirement

Some of the machines and systems have been in operation for several decades and have different interfaces and degrees of digitalisation. The customer needed a simple solution to reliably install updates on all machines and systems on site.

Our Solution

That is what we have implemented

Initially, the machines were supplied with updates via DVD. Our customer used our DISCUS robot solutions for this purpose. We then developed a solution consisting of hardware and software components to supply different control computers of several machine generations with up-to-date data. Various USB mass storage devices can be connected via a USB2LAN connection. These are recognised automatically. The solution enables updates in the working memory and offers a user-friendly web interface for status displays, log file downloads, and simple administration. To date, technical specialists with over a thousand “update cases” are in use worldwide.
