The Medical Faculty of Johannes Kepler University Linz is one of Austria's leading medical universities, combining excellent education with research and patient-oriented care.

Initial Situation

The requirement

In the past, attendance, teacher scheduling, and room planning for human medicine studies at JKU Linz were largely managed manually by staff. This tied up enormous human resources. A modern digital solution was needed.

Our Solution

That is what we have implemented

A customised system was developed that includes hardware for attendance tracking, control of outdoor monitors, and an online portal. The design was adapted to the overall campus concept and blends in perfectly with the surroundings. It is modular, flexibly expandable, and sustainable, with seamless integration into existing systems.

  1. Students record their attendance 15 minutes before the start of the course
  2. Online access for students to swap groups or upload substitute work is available
  3. Different views depending on permissions (e.g., management and administration, teachers)
  4. Online management of devices and automatic fallback on monitors and display systems in case of failures
  5. Interfaces to other systems of the university
  6. The design of the devices is adapted to the overall architectural concept of the university
