Workplace health promotion (WHP) is one of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund's most successful health programs and encompasses all efforts by domestic companies to create a healthy working environment for their employees.

On March 20, 2024, the 19th Seal of Approval Award Ceremony for Workplace Health Promotion was held by the Austrian Network for Workplace Health Promotion in Upper Austria at the Spinnerei Traun.

X-Net Services GmbH received this award for the first time for its commitment in this area and is now one of 546 companies across Austria to have received the award in 2024. In Upper Austria, 80 companies received the award on behalf of their more than 47,000 employees. Companies that want to be successful in the long term need motivated, healthy employees. Workplace health promotion (WHP) is exactly where this comes in.

Sustainable and responsible conduct have been essential cornerstones of X-Net's corporate culture from the very beginning, but also in its daily activities. With the introduction of workplace health promotion in 2021, another important chapter in the creation of a health-promoting work environment was written.

Below are some of the measures and activities that have been successfully implemented since the start of the project and integrated into everyday work:

  • Healthy break (between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m., employees have the opportunity to engage in physical activity every other week with yoga and fitness classes to prevent physical complaints)
  • Nutrition workshops (lectures by nutrition experts raise awareness of nutrition and provide practical suggestions for quick, healthy, and tasty recipes for lunch breaks)
  • Establishment of an X-Net running team with joint training runs after work and participation in events such as the Linz Marathon
  • Creation of opportunities for regeneration and observance of rest periods (including the development and introduction of specific meeting rules)
  • Investment in additional ergonomic equipment (including height-adjustable tables)
  • Regular joint cooking during lunch breaks
  • Introduction of “Porridge Tuesdays”
  • In 2022, the best recipes from employees were compiled in a X-Net cookbook entitled “Sharing Recipes” and given to customers, suppliers, and research partners
  • An extensive tea bar with hot water dispensers complements the coffee selection
  • And of course, the fruit basket should not be left out of the list

Companies in Upper Austria that have dealt intensively with the topic of health in their workplace in recent years and have implemented workplace health promotion projects as part of their regular operations received their seal of approval certificate and a plaque for the period 2024-2026.
