Girls's Day 2025 - Girls in IT
Marlene Mairunteregg | 24.04.2025
We believe that more women are needed in technology. That's why we participate in Girl's Day every year. On April 24, 2025, it was that time again, and we welcomed four female students from 3rd and 4th grade middle school and AHS classes at X-Net to give them an insight into our professional fields.
After an introduction to our company and our areas of work, the girls were given the opportunity to visit several interactive workstations. Colleagues from various departments came up with tasks for the students to complete independently.
By dismantling a PC together, they learned about its components and hardware. At the same time, they were able to follow the process of creating their own 3D print. After the hands-on part, they moved on to software development. Here, the participants got a taste of software implementation by playing a coding game and creating their own small website.
This gave the girls an exciting insight into the wide-ranging field of IT in a short space of time.
The girls showed great curiosity and tackled their tasks with enthusiasm. It is always a pleasure for us to be able to show the girls on Girls' Day how diverse and exciting technology is, thereby making new opportunities for their further education and career paths appealing to them.
